Sandy Lane – Jamoon

Jamoon is a charming private two-story house located in landscaped gardens on the well-kept Sandy Lane estate on the West Coast of Barbados. The villa nicely decorated, has 7 bedrooms and set on famous Sandy Lane Golf Course near duty free shops, white sand beaches and many dining options.

From the main double doors, guests already feel welcome in a cool reception area with a fishtail palm. On the left there are a powder room and a pantry for parties – with a fridge for wine, a mini-fridge, snack storage and an ice maker.

Straight ahead there is an open-plan living room with stunning high ceiling and view of the large pool. This space designed for entertainment in mind, has many convenient seating spots, a large antique dining table for up to 20 persons, and even a piano. More comfortable chairs and sun loungers are located on the terrace with quiet garden views, as well as on the pool deck. On the covered terrace, next to well-equipped Scandinavian kitchen there is casual outdoor dining set up for breakfast or lunch.

The bedrooms spread throughout the house on both levels, have ceiling fans and air conditioning. Two main suites, one on each floor, both have bathrooms, walk-in closets and French doors leading to a private terrace. The other bedrooms have dressing rooms and most have French doors opening into a patio, garden or pool terrace. The guest wing, known as the “Cottage” to the left of the lobby, has its own access to the pool and the main gate. There are 2 bedrooms in the cottage and one shared bathroom. It is just a perfect place for a family with young children.

To the left of the living room above the mini-wooden bridges is a cozy pool with deck and a water volleyball and badminton court (in the depths), as well as floating sun loungers. Fancy tropical paintings of flora and fauna on the outer walls can be observed while drifting on an inflated chair in the pool. A cozy TV room for 8 people (cable and DVD), equipped study, 2 iPod docking stations and wireless Internet throughout the house offer options for games and communication.  An eclectic mix of antiques and Caribbean style gives to Jamoon a special charm. It is 40 minutes drive from airport, 30 minutes to get Bridgetown, 20 minutes to Speightstown and Holetown is 5 minutes away.
